The 355 Challenge was produced after the success of the 348 series. Customers could order the upgrade when purchasing a new 355 Berlinetta which included many racing upgrades.
These included, Competition clutch, Competition steering wheel, Lightweight exhaust, Rollcage, Racing seats, Safety harnesses, Fire extinguisher, Engine cutoff switch, Carbon fiber rear wing, Upgraded 14" Brembo brakes, 18" Speedline wheels, Pirelli racing slicks, Solid suspension bushings and competition springs, Rear brake cooling ducts and Challenge rear grille.
Ordered by Maranello Concessionaires on the 14th June 1996-order number 14- for February 1997 production. This was to be 1 of only 5 355 Challenges, ordered for 1997 and 1 of only 17 right hand drive examples ever built. It was then raced in the 1997 and 1998 series. In 2000 it was purchased for track use and maintained by MHT Ferrari and used in club Fiorano by a couple of owners.
Mr Adrian Newey then took over the car to obtain his competition licence and run by Joe Macari.
The last owner purchased the car for track days and it has recently had a full service, cambelt change, new pads and been prepared to race. Please call for more details.
