The Ferrari California was first announced at the Paris Motor Show 2008, it featured a 4.3L V8 which was coupled with an F1 DCT gearbox. Reviving the name from the 1950’s, found within that of the 250 California Spyder and the 1960’s 365 California, the 2008 California was launched as an entry level Ferrari. The California featured a radical new design by Pininfarina, which was extremely different to that of other Ferrari models. The car was the first front engined Ferrari with a V8, the first to feature the 7 sped DCT gearbox, the first hard-top convertible with a metal folding roof, the first with multilink rear suspension and the first with direct petrol injection.
