Now available is the Ferrari 599 HGTE, finished in Grigio Silverstone with Nero Leather and alcantara interior and Giallo Stitching.
The already awesome 599 GTB was labelled as one of the best handling tourers of its time. With one of the greatest engines ever built, the 611 horsepower Enzo engine, many were quick to assume that it couldnt get much better. Announced in 2009 the HGTE was released not as a lightweight variant but more simply as an evolution of the GTB. 'HGTE' stands for Handling Gran Turismo Evoluzione, but in hardware terms this stands for a lot more. The optional package which cost £14,000 includes stiffer springs front and rear, a meatier rear anti-roll bar, a 0.4in drop in ride height, half a degree more negative camber at the front and five-spoke, three-spoke wheels, half an inch wider than before at the front. The magnetic dampers have been recalibrated to act more aggressively and the change time of the F1 paddle-shift transmission has been reduced to 85 milliseconds when the manettino dial is switched to 'Race'. Other changes to the car include new grilles, more agressive exhaust system and a carbon fibre package which occupies the interior and a seat design unique to the HGTE.
