TVR, a well known and iconic manufacturer of lightweight sports cars produced the Chiamaera from 1992 and built it until 2003. The car was available with a number of different engines, ranging from 4.0, 4.3, 4.5 and finally the 5.0.
This wonderful 1998 example is a 500 model which features the 5.0 litre engine. The TVR was ordered new by a gentleman who lived in the Isle of Man, but never took delivery of it. The car was delivered to TVR in Birmingham where it received its Pre Delivery Inspection before being passed onto its second owner for a short period and then its third not long after. A Mr McDonald purchased the car in 2000 where he then owned it until 2014.
In the previous owners posession the car had a full restoration. Upon inspection of the cars overall condition it was decided in 2015 that the car should be provided with a new chassis as the cost was not far from carrying out remedial works. While this was being carried out, all other elements of the car that had the benefit of being replaced were done at the same time. This included a full respray of the car and roof, a new radiator, the central door locking system and new alarm, wishbone and suspension bushes, rare carbon fibre dash, carpets, hood, battery all oils and fluids, steering rack box, brake discs and pads, air filter, shock absorbers and springs and many other smaller parts.
The car is finished in the very unique 'Starmist Chianti' with beige interior and is presented in very good condition throughout. Complete with original handbook and a well documented history.
